You can hire a massive inflatable pub for your back garden while bars are still in lockdown
Pubs and bars will have to wait a while longer to reopen properly, despite the easing of many lockdown restrictions – but there's a fun substitute that may well be the next best thing.
People can rent an inflatable pub that they can put up in their back garden, from a firm that delivers all over the UK.
The Inflatable Pub Company is based in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, and offers three models of blow-up hostelry, hosting up to 65 people.
However, the structures are classed as being ‘indoors’, so big parties are still off the agenda for now – gatherings will need to be limited to immediate household members or individuals in a support bubble.
Hire prices range from £275 to £445, and extras are also available such as games, benches and keg taps.
In normal circumstances the most popular package is the ‘cash bar’ option, where the company supplies the bar, staff and the stock of drinks for guests to buy.
However, a special contactless system is now in operation, which means customers can book and pay over the phone and the inflatable is delivered without unnecessary interaction.
The inns can be heated on cold days, and the portable buildings are weatherproof. They have names too: Air Of The Dog, The Tavern and The O’Briens Pub.
Wedding receptions, birthdays, festivals and corporate events are some of the company’s past bookings, and in recent weeks traffic to the firm’s website has doubled.
“Our inflatable pub mimics the feel of a real pub, creating a great atmosphere with its attention to detail complete with its very own wooden bar and fireplace creating a feeling of warmth and cosiness,” bosses say.
“This is guaranteed to be something your guests have never seen before. For the ‘wow’ factor and a personalised effect we can customise our signage which means you can have your chosen name over the inflatable pub door.”
Dates for June, July and August are filling up quickly. Those interested can follow The Inflatable Pub Company on Facebook to check for cancellations and the latest updates.
