Unique Doncaster railway pub celebrates birthday as it prepares to re-open
A unique Doncaster railway pub has marked a major milestone as it prepares to re-open after the coronavirus lockdown.
The Draughtsman Alehouse, which is situated on a platform within Doncaster railway station, has marked its fourth birthday – and told customers it will return to business next month.
Announcing the milestone on Facebook, a spokesman said: “Hoppy 4th Birthday to us!
"It's been a turbulent year and we did not think for a second our fourth year would be kicking off with a deep floor clean ready for reopening in May.
“We cannot wait to open our doors and our arms once again to you all. We will see you very soon. But for now, a well deserved birthday beer!”
The pub, which serves a variety of real ales and craft beers, was created after a former Victorian buffet room which had lain empty for a number of years was converted, retaining many of its original features.
