Taco Bell confirms opening of new drive-thru branch in Doncaster

Fast food giant Taco Bell is to open its third branch in Doncaster later this year, with the opening of a new drive thru restaurant.

‘Coming soon’ banners have appeared outside the branch which will be on Wheatley Hall Road.

The chain already has branches within the Frenchgate Centre and a drive thru outlet at the Herten Triangle at Lakeside.

However, it is not clear if the firm is replacing a Burger King restaurant which was understood to have been planned for the site, part of the huge new housing development off Argo Drive.

In March, the burger giant announced plans for a 2,800 sq ft drive thru restaurant site, due for completion by this summer.

Land and property regeneration specialist Harworth Group sold 0.6 acres of land at the new Riverdale Park development to Erindale Ltd for the construction of the new drive-thru on the former McCormack Tractor factory site – also known by many as the former International Harversters plant.

Meanwhile, last year, a drive thru branch of Costa Coffee opened alongside the busy road and signs announcing a new drive thru Starbucks have been in place for a number of months – but the firm says it currently has no plans for a fresh branch in Doncaster

A Starbucks spokesman told the Free Press: “We are always looking for new locations and opportunities to bring the Starbucks experience to customers in the UK, but at this time we have no updates to share about plans at Doncaster.”
