Doncaster restaurant Relish was blasted in a bizarre review about the quality of its wine glasses.

The review said: “Great food, great place but as a wine lover, every time I go I purposely have to avoid drinking wine because of the terrible wine glasses!

"Sounds dramatic but they are short stemmed thick rimmed and feel so cheap, that bad it makes the wine not enjoyable!

"Every wine drinker has a different preference on the glass but trust me these are nobody’s preference! 50p ones from IKEA are a much better choice.

"FYI this is a common complaint amongst regulars at Relish who enjoy a glass of wine not just me being picky! I know for a fact I am not the only one who doesn’t order a bottle of wine from here just to avoid the disappointment when those wine glasses are presented to you!

"Basically please sort it out because I love to eat here and I love to drink wine and it makes me sad I can’t do both. Otherwise I may have to start bringing my own glass in my bag haha.”

According to the review, the drinker’s visit was said to have taken place in October 2020.

However, the whining review has come under fire with Facebook users blasting the reviewer as ‘picky,’ ‘snobby’ and telling them to ‘get a life.’

"The middle of a pandemic, a restaurant is struggling to survive and all you have in your sad life is to moan about wine glasses,” said one.

Another wrote: “How snobby and picky? Didn’t realise Doncaster was full of wine buffs.”

And another post said: “Moaning about a wine glass. Get a life.”

The restaurant is currently closed under Tier 3 coronavirus restrictions.
