The owners of a popular Doncaster bar that has now been closed for 367 days have issued a lament on a lost year – but told customers they can’t wait to return.

Biscuit Billy’s in Silver Street, one of the town’s most favoured watering holes, closed before the official lockdown came into force on March 23 last year.

Marking the year’s anniversary of its closure on Facebook, a post said: “367 days ago...

“367 days ago since we said good night for a while

“It seems so long ago that we made an announcement saying we would close before the official lockdown date.

“367 days WOW!

But ... we have survived , our staff are fit and well . We are all looking forward so much to seeing you again soon .

“Until then , take care and stay safe.”

Under the Government’s phased re-opening, pubs can serve outdoors again from April 12 and indoors from May 17.
