An exciting new exhibition focussing on the economic history of the Dearne Valley has opened at Experience Barnsley.
‘Our Glass’ takes a look at the glass industry, so embedded in the history and heritage of the local area that it is incorporated into the Barnsley coat of arms.
During the exhibition, which runs until March 15, visitors will be able to see fantastic collections from around South Yorkshire.
They can discover sparkling archaeology from Gawber and Wood Brothers glassware worthy of inclusion in the 1851 Great Exhibition.
The exhibition is in partnership with the Dearne Valley Landscape Partnership – a five-year scheme, running from June 2014, focusing on the historic buildings and landscapes of the Dearne Valley.
