Iconic performer and musical chameleon Cyndi Lauper has announced several UK dates as part of her successful Memphis Blues World Tour, which will bring her to Sheffield City Hall on Friday 24 June 2011.

Lauper’s latest album, Memphis Blues, debuted on June 22, 2010 at #1 on Billboard’s Blues Albums Chart and held the top spot for 14 weeks. The CD entered the Billboard 200 at #26, marking Lauper’s highest-charting CD since True Colors in 1986. It was released here in the UK last September.

Lauper has been winning over audiences in the US, Canada, South America and Japan with her blues-focused live show which includes several of the legendary musicians featured on the album, including Charlie Musselwhite on harmonica, Steve Potts on drums, Archie “Hubbie” Turner on keys, and Charles “Skip” Pitts on guitar.

Her UK tour dates follow a visit last year which included Cyndi performing songs from Memphis Blues on Later With Jools Holland. Her tour will also include many of the hits that have made her famous.
