Roy, who moved to Crowle a few years ago with his wife, captured this stunning shot as he was out and about in the district.

He said it was taken on a trip to Goole. As usual he was armed with his camera in the hope that something like this would present itself.

The keen lensman said: “I came across an early Easter Egg surprise which I couldn’t resist sending in to you.

“I spotted a female swan – a pen – on a nest with the male standing guard very close by, which is really early for this time of year. I was lucky enough to capture this photograph.”

He added: “When the pen briefly left the nest for a leg-stretch I managed to get pictures of two eggs already (I believe they can lay up to six or eight).

“The nesting site is near the banks of The Dutch River at Goole. I thought it might make an Easter picture for you.”

He reminded people that they don’t have to go far from where they live to get good images as they can be right on their doorstep.
