Neil Hart spent countless hours assembling the dazzling illuminations – making many of the decorations himself from scratch – at his house on Malvern Road, Intake.

The display includes a handmade wishing well where people can drop donations for the NHS in recognition of the fantastic job healthcare workers have done during the pandemic.

Picture gallery shows the stunning Doncaster illuminations that are giving Blackpool a run for its money!

His proud daughter Chloe said: “The lights are in remembrance of people who have unfortunately had their lives taken by Covid-19 and to raise spirits during these tough times that we are all going through.

“He really is such a generous, loving individual who always wants to put a smile on others faces, even if he is financially struggling.

"He has always wanted to spread Christmas spirit. He has spent so much time on this as all he really wants is to make the people around the town smile and raise that Christmas spirit.”

Even the windows themselves are lit up, with Father Christmas waving to passersby from the living room downstairs while up above toys can be seen under construction in Santa’s workshop.

Neil has always gone the extra mile to dress his house in the most spectacular festive fashion.

In previous years, he has even made a Christmas grotto in his garden and handed out presents to children, which Chloe said he had sadly been unable to do this year due to coronavirus restrictions.
