ONE Direction have won another prize, but it’s unlikely the gong will be going on the mantlepiece anytime soon.

For the X-Factor five-piece, which includes Bessacarr boyband member Louis Tomlinson, were named ‘Worst Band’ at last night’s NME Awards.

Currently touring overseas, the British band were in good company though as Canadian heart-throb Justin Bieber was labelled ‘Villain Of The Year’ and awarded ‘Worst Album’ for his Christmas hit Under The Mistletoe.

Kasabian on the other hand, scooped the ‘Best British Band’ award with Florence And The Machine winning ‘Best Solo Artist’.

Despite the news, One Direction might not be too concerned having amassed thousands of fans during their tour across the States and Canada as they support American boyband Big Time Rush.

The group - made up of Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and former Hall Cross pupil Louis - were only last month given the Best British Single at the Brit Awards for their debut number one hit What Makes You Beautiful.
