A creative arts project is bringing a summer spectacular event for all the family to Balby this Saturday.
The Balby community, working with the arts project Right Up Our Street, have made bunting, decorations and bags to transform the club and car park into a seaside-themed extravaganza with trapeze and aerial performers, Punch and Judy and magic shows and a giant deckchair.
Kate Sully, arts supporter for Right Up Our Street said: “Balby by the Sea is a project that we’ve been working on for many months and has so far involved more than 2,000 people who’ve helped us prepare for this Saturday’s spectacular event.
“We’ve seen 400 people decorating big ice creams, more than 1000 Balby by the Sea bags have been printed and over 500 people have made mosaics, key rings and bunting to add to the day.
She added: “Balby by the Sea will be a true celebration of all the work that has been created in Balby, exhibiting works of art created by the community and there will be fun and games for the whole family to enjoy.”
The event, running from noon to 5pm, is open to anyone to join in.
