This fantastic picture of a heron in flight was taken by talented amateur photographer Roy Briggs.
Roy captured the image when both he and his wife Joyce visited Goole Marina.
He took the picture of the graceful heron’s flight as it hovered over the Aire and Calder Canal on the lookout for fish.
Roy said: “I am always out and about with my camera. I just happened to see the heron flying over Goole Marina on the lookout for food.”
He added: “I pointed my camera into the sky and I was lucky enough to get this graceful bird in flight. It looked as though it was looking for fish.”
We are always on the lookout for readers’ contributed images, which can be on any subject.
