South Yorkshire coronavirus death toll keeps rising as 14 more patients die

South Yorkshire’s Covid-19 death toll has gone up again- this time by 14 more patients, the latest data has confirmed.

Two additonal patients being treated for the deadly bug have passed away in Sheffield’s hospitals, bringing the total in the city to 447.

Elsewhere in South Yorkshire, Doncaster is nearing a grim milestone of 400 fatalities after three more patients were lost to the town- where the death toll now stands at 397.

In Rotherham there were two more deaths, taking the total to 301 and in Barnsley there have now been 277 deaths after seven more were recorded.

Nationwide a further 178 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 38,512.

Patients were aged between 34 and 101 years old.

All except seven (aged 55 to 91 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Their families have been informed.
