Major new services for Isle patients

Patients across the Isle are set to benefit from a major triage area of the accident and emergency unit at Scunthorpe General Hospital.

The £157,000 scheme, which is expected to be completed in the spring, means the number of major triage bays will increase from eight to 13. Nurses (like the one pictured) will be able to offer better A&E services.

Associate medical director for medicine Oltunde Ashaolu,said: “Major triage is where we see the most unwell patients. We can prioritise their treatment according to their conditions.” Emergency centre manager Jo Georgiou said: “I apologise to those attending the department during the works.”
