The group were spotted having a game in Norfolk Heritage Park yesterday lunchtime – and have come in for fierce criticism for ignoring the coronavirus lockdown restrictions.

Twitter user Street Art Sheffield who witnessed the scene said: “It's so frustrating that whilst the vast majority of us are social distancing to help save lives and avoid extra strain on our wonderful NHS, others feel now is the time to gather as a group and play football.

Replying, another Twitter user said: “Infuriating. Saw the same (if not worse) in 2 shops yesterday.

“No limits on customers, previously they did, multiple groups of shoppers of all ages, very few staff with PPE, even fewer customers wearing it – was really disheartening.”

Street Art Sheffield replied: “I've heard similar stories that many of the shops have become lax on the rules and shoppers showing a lack of consideration.

“These people make me so angry. Their actions will just prolong the lockdown and lead to further unnecessary deaths.

Another Twitter user blasted: “Old enough to know better - p*****”

There have been a number of cases of people flouting social distancing rules in Sheffield since lockdown began, with several photos of groups congegrating in Page Hall circulating on social media.
