Doncaster girl rewarded by hospital after creating poster for NHS worker mum

A Doncaster youngster has become Doncaster Royal Infirmary’s first official artist – after designing a ‘stay safe’ poster in support of her NHS worker mum.

10-year-old Hannah Barkley has been designated Doncaster Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust’s first ever artist after sending her colourful rainbow picture to health chiefs.

Mum Sarah Blanshard, a team leader for paediatric patients at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, said: “Hannah said she designed the picture for our window at home to ask everyone to stay safe and to tell everyone to stay home.

“She worries about me going to work everyday but wants everyone to understand we are doing an important job.”

Announcing her certificate prize on Facebook, a DBTH spokesman said: “This young lady received her official certificate today, as will all those who have sent us artwork.”
