Doncaster Conservative MP confirms no contact with coronavirus MP Nadine Dorries

Doncaster Conservative MP Nick Fletcher has said that he has not been in contact with Health Minister Nadine Dorries after she confirmed she had contracted coronavirus.

There are growing fears that Ms Dorries met with a number of fellow Tory MPs, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and constituents in Westminster while unaware she was carrying the deadly COVID-19 bug.

However, Don Valley MP Mr Fletcher has confirmed that he has not been in contact with her over the course of the last week.

A spokesman said: “Mr Fletcher has not been in contact with Ms Nadine Dorries MP.”

Ms Dorries said she has been self-isolating at home.

The Department of Health said Ms Dorries first showed symptoms on Thursday - the same day she attended an event hosted by the prime minister.

Six people with the virus have died in the UK, which has a total of 382 cases.
