Zero Covid patients in Doncaster hospital's respiratory unit, bosses announce

Bosses at a Doncaster hospital have marked a major milestone – by announcing there are zero coronavirus patients in its respiratory unit.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust made the announcement yesterday regarding the number of patients receiving treatment for Covid-19 at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

A spokesman said: “Say it ever so quietly, however, as of the time of writing, there are zero patients with COVID-19 in the Respiratory Unit at Doncaster Royal Infirmary – this is the area that has cared for the majority of those affected with the illness.

"We don’t know how long this period of respite will last, but for this evening, let’s enjoy the moment.
