Three more coronavirus deaths at Doncaster hospitals as numbers continue to rise

Three more coronavirus deaths have been reported at Doncaster’s hospitals as the number of patients being treated for the virus continues to rise.

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Teaching Hospitals Trust said in its daily update an additional 14 patients had been admitted.

A spokesman said: “Today we have confirmed an additional 14 patients with Covid-19 at our hospitals, bringing our overall number to 84 – that's 70 at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, four at Bassetlaw Hospital and 10 at Montagu Hospital (in Mexborough).

"With much sadness, we can confirm that three individuals have sadly passed away, and we share our deepest sympathies and condolences with friends, family and loved ones.

“Currently, seven patients require intensive care and we wish them the very best in their recovery. On a slightly brighter note, we have safely discharged one person today, while nine patients have recovered from Covid-19 and are no longer testing positive for it, although still require hospital care. We hope they will be home safe soon.

“Please continue to support our health heroes and remember hands, face and space.

"Remember, if you have an appointment with us, please attend as normal and wear a face covering please and please only use our Emergency Department if you need urgent care or treatment and seek alternatives for everything else.
