Three Covid-19 patients die in South Yorkshire hospitals as Tier 3 restrictions come in

Three more patients who tested positive for COVID-19 in South Yorkshire’s hospitals have died, latest figures have confirmed.

According to the latest data, released daily, two more Covid-related deaths have been recorded in Sheffield and one has been recorded in Barnsley.

There have been no new recorded deaths in Doncaster or Rotherham.

This means the death toll in Sheffield stands at 489. In Barnsley it is now 321. In Rotherham it remains 339 and in Doncaster it remains 447.

Nationwide a further 295 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 41,605.

Patients were aged between 39 and 99 years old. All except 11 (aged 53 to 91 years old) had known underlying health conditions.

Date of death ranges from 24 October to 2 December 2020 with the majority being on or after 30 November.

Their families have been informed.
