One more person with coronavirus dies in Doncaster after week of no fatalities

One more person has died in Doncaster hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus, the latest NHS figures reveal.

It is the first death recorded in seven days at the trust, which runs Doncaster Royal Infirmary Hospital as well as Bassetlaw Hospital, Montagu Hospital in Mexborough and Retford Hospital.

The 232 fatalities to date do not include deaths in care home or other settings.

There were no other new deaths in South Yorkshire, according to the latest Public Health England figures which had been updated to include any deaths recorded on July 29.

Across the country, further 12 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,329.

Patients were aged between 40 and 96 years old. All had known underlying health conditions.

Their families have been informed.
