One in four adults in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw offered Covid vaccine

Latest data shows around one in four of the adult population in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw have had the first dose of the COVID vaccine.

Across the two regions 346,475 people have now had a jab, according to the latest NHS data. This figure is out of an adult population of 1,241,737.

In the same region, around 94 per cent of the priority over-80s group have now received the first dose as of February 14, the latest date for which data is available.

Of the total adult population in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw, 75,152 are over 80 years old.

Of these, 70,505 have received their first dose. Second doses are supposed to be administered within 12 weeks of the first.

As of February 14, 13,165,548 people had been vaccinated in England.

12,675,663 have received their first dose, while 489,885 have also been given their second.

NHS chief executive Sir Simon Stevens said: “Hitting this milestone is a remarkable shared achievement.”
