No new coronavirus deaths in Doncaster for two days, as England records lowest daily rise since mid-March

No new patients have died with coronavirus at hospitals in Doncaster for a second day running, according to the latest statistics.

The number of COVID-19 deaths at hospitals run by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals remains at 214, figures published by NHS England this afternoon, Monday, June 22, show.

Across England, another 20 people died with the disease in hospital, taking the confirmed death toll to 28,338.

That is the lowest daily increase since March 17, though figures do tend to be lower on Mondays due to a lag in recording deaths over the weekend.

Elswhere in South Yorkshire, there was one more death recorded in Barnsley, taking the total there to 139, while the death tolls in Sheffield and Rotherham remained unchanged at 284 and 186 respectively.

Across the UK, as of yesterday, Sunday, June 21, at 9am, 42,632 people were known to have died with coronavirus in hospital, at care homes or elsewhere in the community.
