More coronavirus cases confirmed in Doncaster - these are the latest figures

Doncaster now has seven confirmed cases of coronavirus, after two more were announced.

The latest regional breakdown was published on Sunday evening by Public Health England, with new figures due out later today, Monday, March 23.

Across the UK, there have now been 5,683 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 281 deaths. So far, 135 people have recovered.

Doncaster has significantly fewer COVID-19 cases than Sheffield, where 82 have been confirmed, and fewer than its other South Yorkshire neighbours Barnsley (10) and Rotherham (9).

There have now been 4,792 confirmed cases in England, 416 in Scotland, 347 in Wales and 128 in Northern Ireland.

The youngest person to have died is believed to have been an 18-year-old, who had underlying health conditions.

Hampshire has the most confirmed cases of anywhere in the country, with 156.

MPs are due to debate emergency legislation later today, which could give police could new powers to force those with coronavirus symptoms to self-isolate.
