Further 12 people die from coronavirus in South Yorkshire hospitals, NHS England confirm

A total of 12 more people have lost their lives to Covid-19 while being treated in hospitals across South Yorkshire, most recent data from NHS England has confirmed.

One more person died after contracting coronavirus while receiving care from Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, from 4pm on October 19 to 4pm on October 20.

This brings the total number of people that have passed away from the virus in Sheffield hospitals up to 313, since the pandemic began.

An additional eight patients were confirmed to have died from Covid-19 at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Trust, increasing the group’s death toll up to 264.

Barnsley NHS Hospital Foundation Trust also recorded that two more people had died from the virus in their care in the same time period.

One more patient also passed away after testing positive for coronavirus at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust.

Across the country, an additional 94 people died from the virus while being treated in hospitals in England.
