Doncaster park and ride site is turned into Covid-19 testing centre

A park and ride site in Doncaster has been turned into a temporary Covid-19 testing facility.

The Doncaster North Park and Ride facility near Highfields is being temporarily used to carry out coronavirus tests in Doncaster during the pandemic.

The site will remain open for Park and Ride users however, with part of the car park being used to carry out tests.

A spokesman for Travel South Yorkshire said: “From Friday 13 November part of the site will be closed due to the relocation of a Covid-19 testing centre to the car park. Spaces will still be available for Park and Ride.

Buses will stop at the bus stop on the road outside the site, via the footpath and pedestrian gate.”

The site, on York Road between Highfields and Scawthorpe, is open between 7am and 7pm each day with nearly 340 parking spaces for commuters wishing to leave their cars and catch a bus into Doncaster.
