In Doncaster, there have been 229 coronavirus victims. The figure is the same as yesterday.

Locally, no further deaths have been recorded across South Yorkshire in the last 24 hour reporting period.

There have only been a handful of deaths across South Yorkshire in the last week as the rate of deaths slows dramatically across the region and the UK.

A further 22 people, who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,125.

Nationally, the UK death toll stands just short of 45,000 at 44,968.

Sheffield has seen 288 deaths, Rotherham 196 deaths and Barnsley 148, all the same numbers as yesterday.

The latest figures come as it was announced that face coverings will not be compulsory in bars and restaurants or offices.

It was announced that wearing masks and coverings will be compulsory in all shops in England from July 24.

Those who fail to comply with the new rules will face a fine of up to £100, the government has announced.

The move will bring England into line with Scotland and other major European nations like Spain, Italy and Germany.

It has been compulsory on public transport in England and at NHS facilities across the UK since 15 June.

Meanwhile, more than 200 blue ribbons have been fastened to the railings of Sprotbrough Methodist Church to remember each one of the town’s coronavirus victims.
