Doncaster bikers plan 'ride of thanks' to show support for town's emergency workers

A group of motorbikers in Doncaster are planning a ‘flag waving, horn blasting, engine revving’ ride of thanks to show support for the town’s emergency workers on the coronavirus frontline.

Members of Doncaster Dragons MCC are planning a route that will take in Doncaster’s police, fire and ambulance stations before winding up outside Doncaster Royal Infirmary on Armthorpe Road.

A spokesman said the ride would only take place once ‘normality returns.’

A Facebook post said: “Doncaster Dragons MCC will be organising a ride of thanks that will pass Donny police, fire and ambulance stations and ending at DRI hospital.

“It will be a flag waving, horn blasting, engine revving ride of respect for ALL our blue line services.

“The ride will be a Saturday when normality returns. Depending on numbers, we will speak to all passing points and hope DRI will allow us a short stop to allow us to clap like mad for a minute or two.”
