Coronavirus: Two more deaths confirmed in Doncaster as 181 fatalities recorded across England

A further two people who tested positive for coronavirus in the Doncaster area have died, the latest statistics from NHS England show.

It means 147 people being treated by the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have now died. The trust runs Doncaster Royal Infirmary Hospital, Bassetlaw Hospital, Montagu Hospital, Mexborough, and Retford Hospital.

Both patients’ families have been informed.

Nationally, a further 181 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 24,527.

Across South Yorkshire, one more person has died in Sheffield, which brings the number of hospital fatalities there to 241. In Barnsley, the total number of deaths has increased by one to 110. A further four deaths have been recorded in Rotherham, taking the death toll there to 138.
