Coronavirus: four patients treated by Doncaster & Bassetlaw hospitals released to continue recovery at home

Four patients who were treated by Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Trust after testing positive for coronavirus have been released.

The trust confirmed on Tuesday (April 7) all four have been ‘safely discharged’ to continue their recovery away from the hospital.

In a short statement, the trust said: “Yesterday, we were able to safely discharge four patients who were being treated for Coronavirus, and we wish them the very best in their continued recovery.”

It comes as the trust also confirmed that, as of today, 20 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died at their hospitals. It is not yet known how many patients from the latest statistics were from Doncaster. The Free Press has contacted the trust for comment.

The Covid-19 death toll in England rose by 758 from Monday, NHS England said.

It brings the total number of confirmed hospital deaths in England to 5,655 - up from 4,897 at the same time yesterday.
