The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Doncaster is nearing 100, latest figures show.

Fresh statistics from Public Health England say there are now 95 cases in Doncaster, with five recorded deaths.

There are now more than one million confirmed cases of the coronavirus worldwide.

Nearly 53,000 people have died and more than 210,000 have recovered, according to a US university tally.

In the UK, there have been 33,718 cases and 2,921 deaths, including Little and Large comedian Eddie Large, whose family announced his death from coronavirus yesterday.

Across the town, all non essential shops and businesses remain closed.

Meanwhile, South Yorkshire Police say they are investigating a woman who filmed herself confronting medical staff at Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Mexborough’s Montagu Hospital.

A video, shared on the page of a Doncaster woman called Nicole Rothschild, has been passed to detectives who are now dealing with the incident.
