21 more patients with Covid-19 die in South Yorkshire hospitals

Latest NHS figures show that 21 people died in South Yorkshire hospitals after testing positive for Covid-19.

The figures, published today it was confirmed that 10 people in Rotherham had died, taking the total there up to 349.

In Sheffield five more people died, meaning 494 in total have passed away there, and in Doncaster the toll rose to 449 after two more deaths.

There were also four more deaths in Barsnley, where the toll now stands at 325.

This comes as the latest infection rates on record in South Yorkshire show a decline in the number of new cases across all regions.

Nationwide, a further 274 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals to 41,879.

Patients were aged between 15 and 98 years old. All except seven (aged 15 to 78 years old) had known underlying health conditions.
