A further 15 coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in South Yorkshire, with multiple fatalities recorded in every local authority area.

Five deaths have been confirmed in Barnsley, three in Doncaster, three in Sheffield and a further four in Rotherham, the latest NHS England figures show.

The families of the deceased have been informed.

As of 1 November, 487 people have now died within 28 days of testing positive for coronavirus in Sheffield, with 297 deaths recorded in Doncaster, 302 in Rotherham and 269 in Barnsley, taking the total across South Yorkshire to 1,355.

Nationally, a further 225 people, who tested positive for the Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 33,335 since the pandemic hit.

The patients were aged between 47 and 101 years old. All except 11 – aged 52 to 99 years old - had known underlying health conditions.
