In a message to parents and carers this morning, Outwood Academy Danum said students in Year 7, 10 and 11 need to isolate today as a precautionary measure.

In a Facebook post, the school, which is between Armthorpe and Intake, said: “Due to a positive Covid case in the academy it is necessary for students in years 7, 10 and 11 to isolate on Thursday, September 17.

“This evening we are liaising with public health and will be able to refine the list of students in the morning and will update you as soon as possible.

“At this stage this is a precautionary measure and will be in touch as soon as we are able with more information.”

There are dozens of schools across South Yorkshire with students, teachers and members of staff isolating due to Covid-19 cases.
