SLIDESHOW: Epworth set to celebrate May Day

There’s a right royal event going on in the Isle tomorrow.

The Friends of Epworth School group is presenting a traditional May Day fair at Epworth Primary Academy on Friday between 3-5pm when the winners of the May Day King and Queen, and Prince and Princess competition – most of the entrants are pictured here – will be drawn at random.

The event will include 
Maypole dancing, pony 
rides, go karts, face painting, bouncy castles, under 5s 
area, tombola, raffle, refreshments, games, stalls and much more.

Entry is free and everyone is welcome to attend. Proceeds from the day are for the children of Epworth Primary Academy.

Entries for the May Day King and Queen are all from Epworth School while the Prince and Princess candidates are from Stepping Stones and Thurlow Preschool - whose photos have been supplied by A&C Photography and Emma Louise Photography.

The winners will be drawn at 4.30pm, followed by the crowing of the winners.

Organiser Sarah Jones from the Friends of Epworth School said: “It’s going to be the first May Day Fair held in Epworth for a while, and we hope that it will be a great success.

“We very much encourage anyone from the Isle to attend, all will be very welcome.”
