Hide AdHelen Redford-Hernandez, chief executive of the Brighter Futures Learning Partnership Trust, which runs the UTC, said: “We have closed part of the UTC, as there was one child in year nine who tested positive for the virus.
"We took advice from public health England.
“Year 12 pupils are still in the college.
"The team at the college dealt with the matter very quickly and parents have been very supportive.”
There has also been a deep clean of the building.
Pupils will receive lessons remotely over the internet until they are able to return.
The college is currently based at the National College For Advanced Transport and Infrastructure’s building at Lakeside, previously the National College for High Speed Rail.

Hide AdPupils are due to move into the new, multimillion pound, purpose built UTC building at Waterdale, in the town centre, after the October half term.
Its first intake of 180 pupils started on Wednesday September 9. It was oversubscribed, having received 300 applications for 150 places, and opened four years after Doncaster Chamber first lodged a bid to the Government for the college, which will teach engineering skills, in 2016.
