Young readers at Denaby Main Primary Academy, part of Astrea Academy Trust, are looking forward to a refurb and restock of their library, thanks to a grant of £7,000 from the Foyle Foundation.

Work will begin on transforming the current library with the new library in place by September. Pupils will be able to borrow from a wide selection of books and use the space for lessons. And they are also being given the opportunity to suggest books they would like to read in the library.

Jen Baldwin, who is vice principal and will be in charge of the library, said: “Reading is an essential life skill and core to the curriculum. We celebrate reading at Denaby Main and we have many budding bookworms, to whom the new library will make a huge difference. We are very grateful to the Foyle Foundation for this grant.”
