The cinema had 30 special guests from the Doncaster School for the Deaf recently.
They hosted a subtitled screening of Peter Rabbit 2.
Jane Goodman, deputy head at the Doncaster School for the Deaf said: “We were so pleased that the Savoy Cinema invited our pupils along for their first subtitled film in the new cinema.
“Our pupils had a fantastic time and all really enjoyed the experience of visiting the cinema and watching a film in the new venue.
“We are pleased to be working with the Savoy Cinema to make sure that our Deaf pupils and their families know when subtitled films will be shown and to make sure that our audience have access to the best possible film experience.”
30 pupils and 20 staff members enjoyed the film as an end of term treat.
Lucy Cammack from the Savoy Cinema said: “We were really pleased to be able to welcome the pupils and staff from the Doncaster School for the Deaf to the Savoy Cinema this week.
“The pupils all had a fabulous time and we are looking forward to working with the school to make sure that deaf families within the local community are aware of our subtitled showings and can make the most of the new cinema in Doncaster.”
