A spokesperson for Ridgewood School on Barnsley Road, Doncaster, said that the school would be closed to year 8, 9, 10 and 12.

Headteacher M.H. Dunn said that the decision was “due to government advice on social distancing, increaisng levels of student absence and because of worsening staffing issues due to self-isolation.”

“The school will remain open for year 7, 11 and 13 students who are not self-isolating or showing signs of the two main symptoms.

“As staffing levels decline, we will continue to risk assess the situation and we may have to close the school for more year groups in the near future.”
