Children in Need in Isle

Hundreds of kind hearted youngsters across the Isle will help to raise vital funds for Children in Need on Friday.

Many schools are taking part in the national fundraising extravaganza and will do their bit to raise cash with a host of events planned.

Kind hearted youngsters at Belton Primary School will attend class and sit in lessons dressed as their favourite super hero with batman, superman and spider-man expected to make an appearance alongside other children’s favourites.

The Belton pupils will also be making cakes and buns to sell in school to raise funds with a school spokeswoman saying: “The youngsters are really excited about dressing up in costume to raise money for this good cause.”

Students at Axholme Academy in Crowle will be holding a non-uniform day alongside academy staff to raise money for the cause.

At South Axholme Academy in Epworth money will be collected when buckets are rattled with everyone urged to make a contribution.

Epworth Primary School pupils are invited to come to class on Friday dressed in something spotty as worn by Pudsey Bear – the mascot of the cause.

At Haxey Primary School youngsters and staff are also invited to wear something spotty and will be urged to bring special cakes and biscuits into school to sell and raise cash.

Youngsters at Westwoodside Primary School will also be helping to raise vital funds when they hold a non-uniform day for pupils and staff.
