“It’s really common in America but not so much in the UK so we’re hoping to make it popular.”
The duo combined Aaron’s creative talent with Junior’s boxing contacts and Switch Hitter Customs was born.
They have so far made boots for Kid Galahad, Terri Harper, Kell Brook, Dave Allen, Jamie Hughes, and Dan Hunt.

“Image is massive in the ring - if you feel good and look good then you will perform better.
“It’s the equivalent of getting a new dress and wanting to wear it out.”
Aaron has always been a boxing fan - the first time he met Junior he was at a match at the Doncaster Dome and he asked for his autograph.

Hide AdFast forward a decade or two and they became friends at a gym then business partners.
Aaron said: “It started when I wanted a pair of old-style black football boots and I couldn’t find them anywhere - so I made my own.
“Then I had lads from football asking me to make them colourful designs and then I started to think about boxing.
“I’ve always been into art - doing this takes a really steady hand and patience but I love it.”

Hide AdAaron says he gets a thrill seeing boxers wearing his gear and hasn’t yet got used to the limelight that Junior is familiar with.
The boots and gloves are made on an individual basis and can be made to match boxers already existing shorts or gloves.
