Arundell Vets opened the doors of its new 24-hour state-of-the-art veterinary practice on Monday on the site of a former shopping unit at Kirk Sandall mall.

The shopping unit has been transformed into a vibrant, modern veterinary practice, boasting the latest high-tech equipment, including a digital imaging suite with ultrasound and x-ray, dental room and two operating theatres.

As well as the latest equipment, the new practice will have four consulting rooms, a prep room, two operating theatres, an isolation unit, separate cat and dog facilities and improved parking.

The move will create new jobs, including a receptionist and a veterinary nurse, with further recruitment to follow.

Arundell Vets has been providing veterinary care for 25,000 clients across Doncaster and surrounding areas for 14 years after being established by clinical director Stephen Arundell and wife Natalie, who is practice manager. Stephen has been caring for the pets of Doncaster since 1996.

The new surgery will replace Arundell Vets’ Bennetthorpe practice as its main branch, providing much improved facilities for clients, patients and veterinary team members. Bennetthorpe will remain open, along with its Toll Bar surgery, as satellite branches.

The transformation of the empty unit at Kirk Sandall cost £750,000 and is being funded by veterinary group VetPartners, which has more than 130 of the UK’s most respected veterinary practices.

Stephen said: “We are delighted with the new practice and these are very exciting times for our team.

" Our patients will benefit from additional services, high-tech equipment and improved facilities, and we will provide an even better experience for clients, with improved parking and reception area. As the new practice is over one floor, it is much more convenient compared to our current site over several floors. It will also provide a much nicer place for our team members to work in.”

Arundell vets also has two other surgeries in Bennetthorpe and Toll Bar.
