Less than a month ago, the Sheffield-based BHI Group Limited took over the running of Styrrup Hall Golf and Country Club under the watchful eye of managing director David Simpson, having had the same owner for 25 years.
Over the next six months to a year the 160 acre site is set for a brand new, more modern and up-to-date look.

Hide AdDavid explained: “We’ve got a refurbishment plan underway and we’re going to do the function room first, and then we’re going to move on to the members’ lounge with balcony before the restaurant which is going to become a gastro pub open to the public.”
The club currently offers members 24 hours access, seven days a week, to the 18 hole, par 73, 6,745 yards golf course, which opened in 2000. The excellent drainage guarantees play all year round giving the course a good reputation both locally and further afield. The club also has a 14 bay driving range. Non-members can pay and play too.
There are 450 members at present.
When it comes to functions, there is an experienced and welcoming team who will cater to your every need from your first enquiry to the date of the party.
Set in picturesque landscaped grounds Styrrup Hall creates the perfect setting for a wedding. The private function room can seat up to 100 guests for a wedding breakfast and 140 for the evening reception along with full private access to the bridal garden.

Hide AdDavid continued: “The restaurant and club side is what we wanted to bring up to date standard first, as it’s a bit 1980s.”
The facility, which has 28 full and part time staff, offers room for weddings, golf society get-togethers, corporate event meeting rooms amongst many others, and there are already a lot of bookings in place.
"I want it to be a family friendly country club where there’s lot of things to do, not just golf, a nice place for everyone to go, and where everyone gets to know one another,” David added.
