He said: “My father is in a care home and the staff there were low on surgical face masks so we gave them some but then it got me thinking about other facilities in the town.

“I would rather the masks go to care homes, charities or smaller caregivers who don’t get the same funding as hospitals and might be being overlooked.”

Colin hopes that the donation of masks will enable staff to continue to do the vital jobs they are doing.

“I found them about three weeks ago but I wasn’t sure what to do with them for the best,” he continued.

“I have been watching the news like everybody else and saw that many medical staff are low on PPE.”

Johhny Vegas, comedian, and actor heard about Colin’s idea and asked to take some masks for his local hospital.

He said: “‘This incredibly generous donation will make a huge difference towards the safety of both the staff and patients at Willowbrook Hospice and surrounding services.

“They will be thrilled and relieved in equally high amounts.

“We are so grateful as it seems many care homes and hospices have been the last to benefit from such vital PPE equipment.

“On behalf of The Steve Prescott Foundation, Willowbrook Hospice, and St Helens as a whole I say a huge thank you Wright Investments.

“Personally I'm overwhelmed by this gesture, by all who've answered our call for help at this most difficult of times.”

Colin believes that as a business owner he should be doing his part during this pandemic.

“It’s important to help as much as possible, where we can,” he said.

“It’s a national effort and businesses that can keep going should be helping.”

They will be delivered by Colin’s daughters who live in Loversall.
