A major panel manufacturing firm has relocated to new premises with the promise of new jobs.

The multi-disciplined engineering team has also relocated to the Eckington site, which has been the home to the Servelec Group for almost 40 years.

A spokesman said the move has cost a ‘six figure sum’ and added five new jobs would be created in the manufacturing part of the business.

Kevin Jones, Servelec Controls’ managing director for oil and gas, said: “The move gives us improved facilities and the capability for expansion within engineering, manufacturing and test departments.

“The new manufacturing and office facilities at Eckington are impressive and give the business the freedom to continue its growth in the coming years.”

The increased capacity allows the manufacturing and engineering departments to meet the growing demands for Servelec products in the oil, gas, power and nuclear divisions.

A total of 75 staff have now relocated to Eckington enabling them to work alongside colleagues involved with live projects in the manufacturing and test areas.

The site, which covers more than two acres, is close to the M1 motorway, providing excellent transport links to the company’s broad range of clients within the UK energy industries.

The facility will support energy projects both in the UK and around the world.
