The chain’s first branch in Britain is now open for takeout and delivery at the Frenchgate Centre.

Part of the Press Up Hospitality Group, the branch’s opening signifies the Irish chain’s move to the UK, with Doncaster’s Frenchgate being chosen as the first location for the launch in England.

Fans can create their dream burger with a range of free toppings such as grilled mushrooms, grilled onions, raw onions, jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mayo, bbq sauce, hot sauce and Wow sauce, all served up alongside hand cut fries, creamy thick shakes and sundaes.

Wowburger has opened its doors in Doncaster.

The brand currently has nineteen outlets in Ireland, distributed throughout Dublin, Cork, Wicklow, Westmeath and Waterford.

Each location reflects the brand’s vibrant red and yellow colour scheme, with interiors inspired by American burger restaurants.

Karen Staniforth, Assistant General Manager at Frenchgate, said: “We’re thrilled to have been chosen as the first location in the UK to welcome Wowburger.

“The restaurant is already starting to make an impact to the local economy with Wowburger creating more than 15 jobs ahead of opening.

“As the Centre continues to successfully navigate the current difficult circumstances, I believe that our strength and determination is only further proven with the opening of Wowburger – a brilliant achievement.”

Susan Bell, Head of Brand Operations at Wowburger, said: “Our team are unbelievably excited to bring our fantastic burgers to the UK and we found that Frenchgate was the ideal place to launch the chain.

“We think that the Doncaster public will absolutely love Wowburger!”
