Brough’s of Bentley, also known as Ann’s Pantry, has been forced to close its doors on Bentley High Street after more than 30 years after being hit by a lack of customers due to the Covid pandemic.

The firm, which also has a branch in Stainforth, has been a long standing fixture in the village, serving locals with bread, cakes, sandwiches and pastries as well as other hot and cold snacks.

Announcing its closure on Facebook, a post said: “The Bentley shop is closed - sadly no footfall on the high street.

"If you don’t support your local shops through this rough time, they will close. After 32 years of owning this shop, look what a virus can do.”

Staff from the Bentley branch have moved across to the Stainforth shop.
