Considered one of the greatest live bands, CHIC’s sound is undoubtedly defined by the rhythm guitar and musicianship of Rodgers, resulting in some of the biggest dance singles of all time including Le Freak, He’s The Greatest Dancer and Good Times.

The sound, which he perfected with the late great former CHIC bass player Bernard Edwards, created a template for funk, dance and even hip hop.

Rodgers has gone on to collaborate with some of the world’s biggest stars including Madonna, David Bowie, Duran Duran, more recently Daft Punk - with whom he picked up three Grammy Awards in 2014, Pharrell Williams, Aviici and Disclosure.

CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers is also confirmed to support Kylie Minogue at British Summer Time Hyde Park on June 21, with CHIC’s first new studio album in 25 years expected later this year.

Rodgers said: “Our fans in the UK are some of the greatest in the world so we’re really excited to be coming over to play live shows.

“We headlined a couple of festivals last summer but it’s great to be able to see more of the UK this time around – see you there!”
