Darren Moore proud of Doncaster Rovers effort in beating 'best opposition' Oxford United

Rovers triumphed 1-0 courtesy of a Reece James strike but had to work hard under plenty of pressure from a side that started the day in second place in League One, and one which Moore labelled the best his team have faced this season.
Coming at the end of a busy run of three games in just seven days, Moore declared himself proud of the manner in which his side carried out instructions given out in the meeting room rather than on the training pitch.

"Karl has go his team set up and they play fantastic football and ask a question.
"We had less than 48 hours to prepare for this one so a lot of work was done in the classroom.
"In terms of that I thought the team got the tactics absolutely spot on.

"I thought everyone to a man was absolutely key to it and it's resulted in us winning the game.
"They are the best team we've played and credit to them.
"I would imagine they would be there or there abouts come the end of the season.
“Make no mistakes about it, we've beaten a good team.”
Having already endured two taxing fixtures since Christmas, Moore said it would always have to be a case of covering for each other out on the pitch in the final game of the intensive run.

“It had to be a display that took a lot of concentration and a mindset to stay in the game.
“Opportunities kept coming for us to break out.
“But after a Christmas period where bodies and minds are weary , we had to keep the squad going.
"We had to turn the players around again.
“As a group we got it spot on.”
