Doncaster funeral director to star on TV comedy quiz Would I Lie To You?

John Pinder, of Bawtry-based family funeral firm W.E. Pinder and Sons, will appear as a special guest on the show where a panel of celebrities have to guess who is telling the truth and who is lying from a number of unlikely sounding stories delivered by panelists.
He will be taking part in the ‘This Is My….’ round where a guest comes onto the set and is introduced by first name, but remains standing in silence as the round continues.

Hide AdPanelists on one team tell the opposing team about their relationship to the guest; only one account out of three told is genuine, and the opposing team has to work out which it is.
At the end of the round, the guest reveals their true identity, and which of the panelists they have a genuine relationship with.
Mr Pinder give notice of his appearance with a Facebook post which simply read: “So, Monday 1st February 8.30pm BBC 1. Just saying.”
Brought forward from Friday, according to publicity material for the show hosted by Rob Brydon, Mr Pinder might be connected to celebrity vicar, the Rev Kate Bottley with the pair enjoying a funeral expo – the Hearse of the Year Show together.
But is that the truth, or is it a lie?
Other guests on the show include Claudia Winkleman, Sara Barron and Ed Gamble as well as regular captains David Mitchell and Lee Mack.
The show goes out at 8.30pm on Monday on BBC1.
